Innovation is very important for society, I mean how do you think we got where we are today. Some of these innovations however… are a bit controversial. A.I (Artificial Intelligence) is a prime example of one of these controversial innovations. People often associate A.I with bad stuff like A.I art, although there exists A.I that is not inherently bad.
Using A.I to draw “art” for you.
I’m just gonna get the obvious one outta the way. DO NOT use this EVER. People might complain ooooh I don’t have enough money for art supplies!! You can get markers/crayons, paper, and pencils for pretty much under $5, and if you’re using a phone to argue about it.. You can literally download a free drawing app. All in all do NOT use this ever. It is way too easy to draw yourself.
That right there is proof. Another horrid thing that using picture A.I does is let the A.I actually learn. This makes it slowly but surely better at replicating actual art styles, and makes it harder to distinguish hard work and effort from slop. I cannot stress this enough, but NEVER use this type of A.I in any shape or form.
Using A.I to give ideas and talk to stuff like that.
This one is still not exactly the best one to use if I’m gonna be real. This one can be used without malicious intent, but it’s kinda too hard to tell if it was used for malice or not. Take for example someone who has a really good idea, but can’t write it out properly they could theoretically use A.I to extend their idea. Now you take someone who is too lazy to do the work, and just puts it into A.I to do it for them. See how that could be an issue?
This is another type of A.I that you probably shouldn’t use, but is a lot better to use than that god forsaken picture A.I.
Using A.I in video games and things like that.
Now there can be 2 ways to interpret this. You could say this asking A.I to make a game for you which would fall under the previous segment I talked about, or you could talk about coding a set of boundaries for an entity to effectively code its behaviour. An example of this would be coding an enemy to attack if the player gets near or to chase if they get far. You could also use a more complex type of coding like take for example a horror game. You could have the monster chase the player until they lose line of sight for a bit, and then make them check potential hiding spots or make them go back on a waypoint route. You could also make a boss fight where it attacks in different ways, and then maybe when it gets below a certain hp (hit point) threshold it could play a cutscene and gain more powerful/stronger attacks. All of this is just scratching the surface of what you could possibly do when it comes to coding an entity A.I in a game.
You could also ask A.I for ideas on what to code, but again this type of thing falls under the previous segment about using A.I to write out sentences for you.
Conclusion
In conclusion you really shouldn’t use A.I especially not now. Many people put a lot of effort into what they do just for some tin can to try and overtake them rather poorly actually. All in all don’t use A.I
